Focus and Scope

GeoProgress Journal is a serial publication of scientific papers edited by Geoprogress in line with its strategic objective to increase and disseminate knowledge to contribute to the progress of humanity: In particular, it is an open access e-journal submitted to a double-blind peer review, focusing on development studies at local, regional and international level,
In continual publication since 2014, the GeoProgress Journal publishes intellectually rigorous articles developed through comparatives analyses and/or reflections on theoretical contributions and empirical findings, and analyses of case-study, starting from robust theoretical assumption, in themed issues that are related to emerging and evolving development challenges, presented in a clear and such manner, in compliance with the rules of scientific correctness, as to help respond to
operational and political needs.

The Journal publishes two kind of Issues: ordinary and special, that is thematic.
For ordinary Issue, the GeoProgress Journal encourages, in particular, the submission of original manuscripts, commentary and essays devoted to the examination of theoretical or empirical issues, mainly related to new approaches, techniques and analysis in the fields of Development studies and policies, which are included in the following thematic areas: 1) Governance issues and rules, Political and Institutional Issues of Community Development, from local to global scale; 2) Human rights, International Law, International Co-operation, 3) Social and Cultural Development Issues, and Policies; 4) Natural Environment Issues and Policies for an Ecologically Sustainable Development, at regional and global scales; 5) Regional and Urban Development Issues, and Planning; 6) Methodology Issues of Business Development, Strategy, Innovation and Regional Economy; 7) Methodological and Technical Issues of Geographic Information and Spatial Analysis Priority will be given to problems and policies of specific interest for the Geoprogress association which affect the local and the global scale and include: the poverty reduction and eradication, the protection of the ecological human life conditions, the enhancement of the landscape, knowledge and art-historical heritage of peoples, the improvement of methods of territory governance, the progress of democracy in its various conceptions, of global sustainability and a more balanced and just international socio-economic and environmental system.

Moreover, priority will be given to research providing for suggestions and policy recommendations on how to ensure each nation sovereignty contributing the gradual overcoming of internal and international conflicts and of all forms of discrimination, exploitation and social injustice, and so building more inclusive and secure societies.

While development studies is the focus, articles also bring in wider perspectives from across the social sciences as they address global challenges.

Last but not least, the purpose of the Journal is to urge the academic world to participate and contribute more to the political debate on the problems on which our lives and that of our children depend To guide research on the aforementioned problems and solicit contributions from the scientific community, the journal publishes special issues and organizes lectures and public meetings of researchers.
The publication of Special issues for each themed issue can be promoted by the same Editor or by external Issue editors, appointed by the Journal's Editor in chief for their expertise and experience.

Guidelines for Authors – Format of the text and how to present it.
The texts proposed must be in good English for the international journal GeoProgress Journal.
They must be submitted in the form of complete contributions of 5-16 pages, no more than n 16 (including bibliographic references and notes, graphs, tables, illustrations (jpg format, 300 dpi The texts must be written (saved and sent) in word.doc (97-2003) according to the format: Style guidelines

The texts must be sent – in 2 copies, one complete and one without the name of the Author (or Authors) – by e-mail to info@geoprogress.eu. A group of linguistic experts is available for a paid revision and/or translation service of the articles. Contact (jennifer.lertola@uniupo.it).

GeoProgress Journal is an open access published under a Creative Commons Attribution Licence 4.0.
With the licence CC-BY, authors retain the copyright, allowing anyone to download, reuse, re-print, modify, distribute and/or copy their contribution. The work must be properly attributed to its author.
It is not necessary to ask further permissions both to author or journal board.

Identification, archiving, indexing

The GeoProgress Journal is indentified with ISSN 2384-9398, and the articles are identified with DOI number; is archived in the C.N.R.-SOLAR, indexed and repertoried in several sources.

Copyright
After the acceptance of the manuscript by the editor, each article must be published. The authors retain all rights to the original work with the unique restriction of citing the publisher of the first edition.
The readers may download articles totally or partially but the source must be cited.

The data collected from registered and non-registered users of this journal falls within the scope of the standard functioning of peer-reviewed journals. Journal Sponsorship
However, a donation is welcome, as Geoprogress is a non-profit association (ONLUS in Italian Law) and can carry out its projects only with donations from people who share its mission or with the contribution of institutions that share the aims of its projects.
